Kyuss Lives! Sydney Show - Photo Gallery

I yelled to no one in particular upon hearing Kyuss' live sound for the first time... I've been listening to this band from the Californian desert since I was a teenager and despite high expectations their mountainous rumble still exceeded them ten-fold. Sydney's Luna Park was at capacity when Tracks arrived and all ears were at the ready long before the first note was played. This reunion was a long time coming. When Bruno, Nick and Brant kicked things of with the instrumental track, 'Molten' the sound was sweater than honey flavoured beer poured by naked Victoria Secret models. Once joined onstage by singer John Garcia, the band, now known as Kyuss Lives!, proceeded to blow minds. They took the audience on a musical escapade that ventured along far away moonscapes, though psychedelic dreams and even along glacier like waterfalls back on earth. No lyrical wit can do this show justice. Enjoy the photos and, as the t-shirt says, "listen to Kyuss." All Pics: By The Fez  Tracks gets a welcome hug backstage from Nick before the show.  Singer John Garcia captured in a very Elvis '56 like moment just minutes before hitting the stage.  Garcia salutes the crowd on entry with his now customary stage beverage, Jack and Coke (in a wine glass = style).  The less is more stage presence of both Garcia and Bruno thrilled the sold out Luna Park venue.  Crowd favourite Nick Oliveri locked into the groove (and his stance) from song one and never wavered.  Silhouetted by a white glow, the crowd gets a look at legendary drummer (and solo artist), Brank Bjork at work.  Bruno Fevery nailed the unenviable task of playing Josh Homme's guitar parts with aplomb.  One of the most recognizable and unique rock voices of all time, John Garcia getting things right on the night.
