A respectful and appreciative round of applause is dutifully required. Yes, his verbal diarrhea can be intolerable. His insistence on making movies about himself almost by-yearly, sickening (no matter how good they are [three so far]) – fact remains his reign (despite a looming threat from John John Florence) as the king of Pipeline continues. Picking the best lines on the biggest and (not) always the best waves out Pipeline is a freakishly hard act to maintain. Everyone wants to be top dog.
