Beyond Puberty Blues

![]() A special tribute screening of the original 1981 film ‘Puberty Blues’ at the Bondi Pavilion in memory of one of the films original star's, Jad Capelja, who suffered from schizophrenia and tragically took her life a few years ago. Beyond Blue is thrilled to be the beneficiary charity for the night which aims to not only celebrate Jad’s life but to raise awareness of mental illness and depression. This year Beyond Blue are especially focusing on youth depression, bullying and LGBT issues for young people. Tony Hughes (who played the original Danny) has agreed to perform with his excellent reggae band King Tide. Her story (along with her co-star Nell Schofield) was screened in an episode of Australian Story last Monday night (Sept 24) Watch HERE BEYOND PUBERTY BLUES A special tribute night in memory of Jad Capelja.
