The son of a Lieutenant Commander in the Royal British Navy, Simon ‘Swilly’ Williams was born in
Falmouth,
Cornwall in 1964. After retiring from the Navy Simon’s father bought a pub in St Agnes (also in Cornwell), where Simon learnt how to drink. A very keen surfer from an early age, Swilly travelled to
New York and studied photography at just fifteen, and upon returning to
England decided to combine his two loves. When he eventually turned 16 Swilly travelled to every corner of the earth (with surf), landing in
Australia in 1986. To his delight he found Poms could get on the dole in
Australia. So, he stayed. He met his wife of 21 years on the Gold Coast and along with three lovely children, still calls the place home. Swilly has established a nice little business in surf photography (and a few corporate clients) and is no longer on the dole.
He loves ALL people, and enjoys talking to all of them.
