East coast surfers Kelly Norris and Peter Hayes are off with Harro on a filming mission for The Barrel as they work on getting Vol. 3 in the can. The destination is up Ningaloo way and wherever the waves are. It’s already been a four day driving fest with lots of red dirt and white line fever but the smell of the west and the waves is already in their nostrils. As you can see the rig includes plenty of boards, a couple of jet skis, a few rods to help feed the gang, a whole bunch of camping gear and yep, that is a sat dish so they can get the forecast.
Harro is fired up for this third film in the series which already has epic Mavericks, Jaws and Pipeline in the bag. He recently told Tracks: “It’s a monster drive and I think I’ve had enough bad roadhouse coffee to do me for a while but I know as soon as we see the ocean again we’ll be frothing. It’s so wild and remote and mind-blowing over in the west. As a filmer I can’t get enough of it. That red dirt, the aqua waves, the tubes… and those big skies.”
Can’t wait until they spark up the sat dish and beam out a few more shots in the coming weeks. Watch the trailer for The Barrel Volume II below.
Stay tuned.
