Double Barrel is a documentary that follows Peruvian surf guide Harold Koechlin’s dream of protecting Peru’s world-class surf breaks and working with the local community to turn an oil-dominated north coast village into a truly sustainable surf town. Byron Bay filmmaker and journalist Angie Takanami recently travelled to Lobitos with Harold Koechlin to help bring global awareness and support via their Double Barrel Project. Angie and Harlold believe that without a solid plan the local environment, the community and the world class waves could be lost forever.
