Kelly Slater is eyeing off his 12th world title this December in Hawaii. Having already accomplished so much in his career it seems trivial that he needs any more accolades to define him as the greatest surfer of all time. He recently had a candid chat to CNN and discussed that he still plans on improving his surfing well into his 50s. “I want to surf better tomorrow. I want to surf better in ten years from now, y’know when I’m 50 I want to be a better surfer than I am now,” he says. It is refreshing to see the king open up and discuss why surfing is his religion and how he has coped with many of his friends passing away surfing big waves.
