The Cave is one of the heaviest waves in Portugal. It’s a slabbing right-hander, precariously shallow and tricky to ride. Kelly Slater was arguably the best surfer out of the contest jersey in Portugal and here he shows how comfortable he is with challenging conditions. During the event he redefined what we thought was humanly possible with his 540 air (which some argue was a 720), and found the deepest and biggest barrels shared here with friends Aritz Aranburu and Sebastian Zietz.
