KFC Monetising On Mick Fanning’s Misfortune?

Latest KFC ad uses Mick Fanning shark attack incident to sell fried chicken.

KFC South Africa has uploaded a new advert to YouTube that you’ll either find funny or in very bad taste. The commercial titled, ‘Pro Surfer Fights Off Shark in South Africa’ depicts an eerily similar scene to that in which Mick Fanning found himself in when he had a close encounter with a shark in the final of the J-Bay Open against Julian Wilson earlier this year.

But the ending is slightly different. “Next level awesome” different – according to The Colonel. Our hero responds by lifting the shark up over his head and tandem surfing the beast to shore.

You might recall the many Mick Fanning memes that did the rounds following Mick’s incident at J-Bay. But has this left you outraged? Will you vow never to eat another piece of KFC fried chicken ever again? Will you write to The Colonel and complain?
