Surfers Against Suicide

Help FTW prevent suicide in Australia and abroad.

FTW Revolution founder and surfer Matt Dee is on a quest to prevent suicide in Australia and abroad and he’s called on a number of high profile big wave surfers to help him do it. Marti Paradisis, Koby Abberton, Justin Jughead Allport, Dean ‘Dingo’ Morrison, Jesse Pollock and Richie Vas have all thrown their support behind Matt’s project.

In conjunction with Suicide Prevention Australian, FTW are currently raising money to develop a multi-purpose App. While supplying a steady stream of entertaining content, the App will help contribute to research in mental health and link suicide prevention services such as Lifeline and counsellors to those in need.

“We are developing an app of engagement for mental health and suicide prevention. The app precedes and aims to avoid the crisis situation, unlike a phone call, which is during crisis and often too late. It’s simple, fun, informative and proactive. It’s an app that welcomes and connects you to the family and beyond. We truly believe it’ll be the biggest thing to enter the mental health sector,” says founder Matt Dee.

According to the FTW website, globally an estimated one million people take their own lives each year while a further 20 million attempt suicide. FTW aims to engage troubled adolescents with their stories of people and surfers who have gained strength through adversity. It also aims to empower disaffected youth by proving them with the support network they need.

Donate at the Go Fund Me campaign and help them create a united voice on suicide prevention.
