Tracks were recently lucky enough to be invited down to Mt Buller to test ride the revolutionary new Cross Board with its Australian designer Dave ‘Max’ Elphick. The Cross Board has been engineered like a skateboard with a truck-based dual bladed board designed to control edging and side cuts. It helps new riders learn quicker letting them ride the whole mountain sooner, while experienced riders can develop new tricks and tune their Cross Board for more control and freedom in a variety of conditions. Tracks had a ball and would encourage anyone starting off at the snow or looking for something new in icy conditions to give it a go. The Cross Board comes in two sizes: the 1080cm red short board and the larger 1360cm blue long board. The latter has limited stock of 50 boards. In Australia, the first release Cross Boards cost $800, or rented for $60 per day at Mt Buller.
